Varaždin Gallery Centre and the Varaždin Municipal Museum organized this most significant exhibition, which for the first time in this context present the development of Avant-Garde art in the ex-Yugoslavia region in the period from 1918 to 1989.
The works were selected by the art historian Ješa Dengeri, and he divided them in three groups: international Avant-Garde (1915 - 1946), Post-War Avant-Garde (1946 - 1948), and New Artistic Practices (1968 - 1989).
Also exhibited are issues of "Zenit" magazine, which was the first magazine that connected, on an international level, Avant-Garde artists and works of visual artists and theoreticians Antun Motika, Oskar Davičo, Ivana-Tomljenović- Meller, members of Gorgona group, Bauhaus artists, EXAT 51 group and others.
