In 1930, Željko Hegedušić (Tuzla, 1906 - 2004) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in the class of the painter Vladimir Becić. From 1930 to 1931 he continued his studies in Paris. Between 1932 - 1950 he was a professor of drawing at secondary schools in Zagreb and Sremska Mitrovica. Between 1950 - 1955 he lectured at the Academy of Applied Arts in Zagreb. His artistic expression was formed in Paris, influenced by purist and metaphysical - surrealist painting. He was primarily a painter, but also created wall paintings, frescoes, applied graphic works, book design and illustration.
