Michail Grobman rođen je 1939. g. u Moskvi. Umjetnik je i pjesnik. U 60-tim godinama 20. stoljeća bio je aktivni član Druge ruske avangarde. Imigrirao je u Izrael 1971. g. Godine 1975. osniva grupu i umjetnički časopis Leviathan.
Grobmanovi radovi uključuje kolaže, slike, instalacije i objekte. Za Grobmanovu umjetnost važan je tekst, on piše minimalističke pjesme i "vizualne stihove" sastavljene od natpisa iz časopisa, transformira naslovnice starih knjiga u pjesnička djela. Grobman živi i djeluje u Tel Avivu u Izraelu.
